Photographing what love feels likeCIAO LOVERS, I’M GIULIA
Capturing honest, imperfect, deeply human weddings across Italy
I was born in Turin, Italy, and creativity has always been part of my language. I grew up dancing, playing music, expressing myself through movement and sound before I ever picked up a camera. Photography entered my life slowly, almost unexpectedly, during my teenage years. It wasn’t a big decision, it just felt natural. I started using it to make sense of what I was feeling and noticing around me. It became my way of paying attention.
In my early twenties, I lived in Texas and later in the UK. Being far from home, immersed in different cultures, changed me in quiet but lasting ways. It made me more curious, more open, more aware of how people love, celebrate, and relate to one another. Today I’m based in Italy, and I get the privilege of capturing love throughout the country, discovering new corners of it, again and again.
I studied cross-cultural communication and earned a Master’s degree in Sociology. Social sciences and photography have always felt naturally connected to me. I’m deeply curious about people, bout the subtle dynamics, the quiet gestures, the unspoken emotions. Weddings are this incredible space where everything comes together: culture, family, intimacy, tradition, individuality. For me, they are not just events, but living, breathing human stories.
My Approach
On a wedding day, I move gently. I don’t like to interrupt or direct too much. I prefer to be present, observant, and responsive to what is unfolding. I photograph what I truly see and feel: the real laughter, the nerves, the stillness, the chaos, the tenderness. The small, imperfect, beautiful moments that make your story yours.
Love and community are what truly matter and drive my work, and capturing them with honesty is the greatest luxury of all. I value the chaos and the calm in equal measure: the laughter, the nerves, the tenderness, the unexpected. A wedding day is a series of fleeting moments that simply can’t be staged or manufactured, they are to be gently observed, just as they unfold.
I’m inspired by weddings that break a few rules, skip what doesn’t feel right, and lean into personality. The relaxed ones. The slightly chaotic ones. The wildly joyful ones. The ones where everyone ends up barefoot by the end of the night.
Weddings are about celebrating the dynamic duo that the two of you are together. I strive to create photographs that really capture the emotions you truly felt that day and take you right back to themI love to capture the small, imperfect, beautifully human moments that make your story entirely your own.
CONNECTIONS
I draw inspiration from editorial photography, cinematography, the black and white street photography from last century, architecture, movement and jazz music.
WHAT INSPIRES ME
Each time I get to shoot on 35mm film I fall more and more in love with analog photography. In my work I love to blend the nostalgia of film with the crispness of digital to create images that feel alive, textured, and full of soul.
